National Museum Australia

A celebration of Australian social history, the National Museum of Australia (NMA) explores the land, nation and people of Australia. It does so in a unique way by revealing the stories of ordinary and extraordinary Australians, promoting the exploration of knowledge and ideas.

In conjunction with their 10th anniversary in 2011, NMA required a brand identity to reflect their new vision and positioning as a place of discovery, not just of learning. We created a new identity to reflect this strategic direction and encapsulate what we discovered to be the essence of the Museum experience – 'where our stories live'.

The result is an identity that connects the themes of storytelling, sharing and celebrating. The speech platform serves as an open invitation to be part of the conversation about Australia’s people, history and future. The concept design for the website continues to build on this idea of layered storytelling. Much like the museum itself, content is displayed so that it can be engaged with in a non-linear manner; providing unique opportunities for individual and collective experiences.
